NFC and International Micropayments Forum
PORTLAND, Ore.--(www.AllPayNews.com)--Tyfone, a global provider of mobile financial services infrastructure and fully-integrated mobile payments capabilities, today announced that Prabhakar Tadepalli, Tyfone’s Managing Director – APAC, has been invited to present to the NFC and International Micropayments Forum at its upcoming meeting in Taipei, Taiwan on June 24, 2008. Tadepalli will discuss Tyfone’s perspectives on the use cases and market drivers affecting the mobile payments landscape globally. Tyfone is a co-sponsor of the event.
Chunghwa Telecom, the GBDe and APSCA will play host to the second meeting of Asia’s newly formed group tasked with exploring the business models, standards issues, market forces and various technology solutions surrounding the practical implementation of NFC-based (Near-Field Communications) international micropayments. The forum is comprised of leading mobile operators, together with banks, transport operators, technology vendors and payment processors. Tadepalli is a seasoned technology executive with responsibility for all product and business development aspects of Tyfone in Asia-Pacific, along with his role leading Tyfone’s strategic planning initiatives.
“Sales of mobile phones in the Asia/Pacific region increased at a rate nearly twice the worldwide growth rates over the last twelve months, in large part because mobile phones are the primary means of communication for many individuals here,” said Prabhakar Tadepalli. “That trend offers Asia a prime opportunity to play a leadership role in resolving the issues and setting the stage for the advancement of mobile payments. Tyfone is proud to play a key role with this forum in helping to advance these exciting developments.”
Tyfone is the industry’s only provider offering both secure mobile banking and contactless mobile payment capabilities that are device- and carrier-independent, giving issuers the freedom to offer branded services on their terms ─ not someone else’s. With R&D centers in Bangalore, India and Taipei, Taiwan, Tyfone and its patented SD memory card-based mobile payments technologies are well-positioned to be an instrumental part of the future of NFC-based mobile payments in Asia and throughout the world.
